​Our Story

 

We are a ministry family.  What we mean by that is that God has called Gordon to serve as a minister in the Church of the Nazarene and, by the grace of God, we (his family) have been called together with him.  

 

We all have a mental image in our mind of what a pastor looks like. For many it's someone they see on television.  For some, it's the guy who stands up front on Sundays and delivers the sermon.  And for a few, he is the person who taught, loved, gave, and lived his life so your walk with Christ could become more.  We strive and pray for grace to be that third kind of Pastor.  Gordon loves to preach the Word, but he is not interested in fame.  He enjoys talking to people, but is not seeking popularity.  What we earnestly seek is that God will use us as His instrument to carry on the good work of salvation in your life to its completion. Our passion is calling the congregation to a deeper walk down the narrow road.

 

In January 2014, we came to our new home and ministry in La Junta, CO and feel extremely priviledged to Pastor and serve the people of this community. It has been a long journey to get where we are now and it is the 2nd time our family has moved from our home state of New Mexico to Colorado.  The first time was for Gordon to begin his studies at the Nazarene Bible College in 2002, subsequently he pastored in Oklahoma and New Mexico before landing once again in Colorful Colorado!  Our family is celebrating one more milestone acheived as Gordon is graduating from Nazarene Theological College this fall with his Masters of Theology! What a ride!
